Ramelin’s Thanegioth Archipelago, 2 miles per hex
In what may be a first for Ramelin Mystara, Jose produced a map in a scale other than 8 miles per hex. Presenting: the Thanegioth Archipelago at 2 miles per hex.
It’s a great map, redeveloping the 8 mile version into a larger scale map. As with most of Jose’s later maps, it didn’t add more in the way of settlements or other icons, but the terrain was richly detailed. For the first time, he provided mountain ridge shapes for the Isle of Dawn. Another major change was the coastlines, which he roughed up appropriately for the enhanced resolution of this scale.
All in all it was a wonderful peek at what a larger scale Ramelin map could achieve. As of this writing, it remains his only non-8 mile per hex map. I’m sure we’d all love to see more, although the continuation of 8 mile per hex coverage likely takes precedence for Jose.
