Ramelin’s Notrion, 8 miles per hex
In July 2017, Jose shared a few sets of maps to his DeviantArt gallery. One of these was a group of four maps revising his take on Bellissaria, which he had previously worked on earlier in the year. However, this map of Notrion seems to reverse some of the previous additions, suggesting that in fact it dates back to before the Bellissaria v2 map in March. The omissions are not large: no shipping lanes, no hills around Aaslin, and no rivers running south off the Winklemazes. Otherwise everything was about the same in Notrion.
Without further insight into Jose’s process, it’s hard to say why this map ended up like this. Given that he didn’t walk back any of these changes in his version 3 map in 2018, it seems most likely to have been a simple oversight, possibly due to working with multiple versions of maps. I can certainly sympathise with this: it is far from easy to juggle hundreds of different maps with multiple variants for each!
