The Maps

  • Art — High contrast palette, with symbols that aren’t confined to individual hexes. Reminiscent of AD&D 1st Edition maps.
  • Fonts — The shift to AD&D brought two different styles, with the Mystara line using Post Antiqua, with Stempel Schneidler for titles, while Red Steel went with Cochin. The Almanac used Korinna and Helvetica. Benguiat made a cameo appearance in the Karameikos boxed set. For the first year in a long time, Feinen made not a single appearance.
Post Antiqua became the face of Mystara’s maps post-D&D, after the conversion to AD&D.

Stempel Schneider was used for titling in Mystara’s AD&D 2nd Edition reboot release.
