Ashtagon’s Alphatian Neatharum, 40 miles per hex
In early 2026, Emma took a break from her Patera project to create a few more replica maps. This was the first of these: a reproduction and colourisation of Wrath of the Immortals’ Alphatian Neatharum map. She explained a few things about the map in her post at The Piazza:
Near-replica map from the Wrath of the Immortals boxed set. Made using Worldographer and an expanded version of Thorf’s hex art.
Note that although the original map has label indicating a scale of one hex equals eight miles, when comparing this to other Hollow World maps, it is clear that the scale is in fact one hex equals 40 miles.
It’s another nice example of her revised palette in action, with the differences between the various forests and jungles on full display.
On Facebook, Emma pointed out something that I had missed:
This map is the first time I started doing white borders on the edge of the maps instead of black borders. This was partly because it makes it visually easier to crop, but also in recognition of the fact that some people print these maps, and large swathes of black are not fun to print.
