Ramelin’s Yalu Sea, 8 miles per hex
This was a bit of a strange one, as it simultaneously added features from newer maps, updating some regions of the map, while also leaving in older versions scattered throughout. For example, it has the latest version of the Seven Duchies, but with certain features using old versions. The same is true of the Kingdom of the Dead and the Borean Valley, with the map seemingly poised between the old Central Brun version and the newer Borean Valley map — but not quite including everything on the latter.
In intent, it appears to be a wider context version of the Seven Duchies, showing all the surrounding lands. But perhaps its real reason for existence may be that this map belongs to Jose’s higher resolution set. I haven’t touched on this in previous posts, but in fact Ramelin Mystara has multiple different resolutions. The larger trail maps tend to be scaled down to three quarters of the usual full resolution. This is not a big surprise, given the vast maps and their equally massive pixel counts; it was likely necessary to keep maps of that size viable.
