Chimpman’s Vaniae, 72 miles per hex v1
About a week after posting a work-in-progress version, John shared his first pass at a hex map for Vaniae. By this time he had decided which features to use, and which to discard. He explained in his post at The Piazza:
I have a very preliminary map of Vaniae at 72mph. So far it includes the major seas and canal lines. Let me know what you think, and if you’d like to see any changes.
As you can see, John named this as a hex map, though it doesn’t appear to have included a hex grid. Most likely, his Photoshop file included the grid but he had it turned off when creating this JPG copy. Since the previous view, he had resized the map, most likely to fit his 72 mile per hex grid. He would return to this map in early 2010, at which point the map was the same dimensions but the hex grid was present.
